Presenting a striking painting of Harihara, which in Hinduism is a deity combining the two major gods Vishnu (Hari) and Shiva (Hara).
In images of Harihara, the right half is depicted as Shiva and the left as Vishnu. The hands of Shiva hold the trishula (“trident”), a drum, and small snakes, and he wears a tiger skin. The hands of Vishnu hold his characteristic gada (mace) and a chakra (discus). Half the headdress is shown with Shiva’s matted locks, which hold a crescent moon, and half as Vishnu’s crown; on the forehead, half of Shiva’s third eye is visible.
Because each deity is the supreme being, the unity of the two represents the sacred ultimate power of the universe, supreme over all other gods.
Your decor will come alive with this art of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva together in the avatar, Harihara. Buy it now.
