Riqueza Cultural Extra Anejo Guerrero Jaguar Ceramic

Riqueza Cultural is made at Tequila Selecto de Amatitán, NOM 1459, in Amatitán, Jalisco, in the lowland Tequila Valley. It is 100% blue Weber agave cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, fermented with spring water in stainless steel tanks, and double distilled in stainless pot stills, bottled at 40% ABV. The Extra Añejo designation means a minimum of three years in oak, and the extended rest shows in the color and in the vanilla, toasted wood and dried-fruit depth that sits over the agave. The decanter is a ceramic jaguar warrior, molded and hand painted by Mexican artisans with a matching ceramic stopper. The jaguar knights were one of the elite military orders of the Mexica, whose soldiers wore armor bearing the emblems of jaguar, eagle and serpent; in that symbolism the jaguar represents earthly power, which is why this design is the heaviest and most grounded of the three warrior bottles. Because each piece is finished by hand, no two jaguars carry quite the same markings, and Riqueza Cultural makes them in limited runs rather than as a year-round item. Expect a mild, oak-led extra añejo inside.
