Mucha Liga Reposado Tequila

Mucha Liga is a lucha libre-themed tequila from Jalisco, with every bottle sculpted as a luchador's head in a wrestling mask and every expression named after a fighter in the league. The reposado is Canibal, the red mask, sitting between Bravo, the blue-masked blanco, and Invicto, the white-masked añejo. The base is 100% blue Weber agave grown at around 1,530 meters, an elevation the producers credit with higher residual sugars and a slightly sweeter spirit. Production is at NOM 1610 (previously NOM 1551), where the agave is cooked in stone and brick ovens, crushed on a roller mill, fermented without fibers in stainless steel tanks with deep well water, and distilled twice in stainless pot stills fitted with copper coils. Canibal is then rested for up to six months in American white oak barrels that previously held bourbon, which turns the spirit golden and gives it a medium-to-full body. It's bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), a reposado that works neat or on a rock as well as in a Tequila Old Fashioned or a richer margarita.
