You’ll love this colorful and detailed miniature painting of Krishna and Radha made in the Indian miniature style.
The theme shows the Hindu God Krishna offering a conciliatory gesture to Radha and thus committing to a divine union in which Krishna vows to forever protect her from harm.
The Radha-Krishna amour is a love legend of all times. It's indeed hard to miss the many legends and paintings illustrating Krishna's love affairs, of which the Radha-Krishna affair is the most memorable. Krishna's relationship with Radha, his favorite among the 'gopis' (cow-herding maidens), has served as a model for male and female love in a variety of art forms, and since the sixteenth century appears prominently as a motif in North Indian paintings.
The artwork serves to delight and comfort the viewer in an artistic salvation. Krishna and Radha besiege the eye, scintillating in their artistic depiction.
Rich and intricate, this compact composition is also bright, colorful and breathtakingly beautiful. It is done with extremely fine attention to detail of the figures and clothing against a lush natural backdrop.
