Kilkerran 12 Year Old is the flagship of Glengyle, the Campbeltown distillery resurrected in 2004 by Hedley Wright of J&A Mitchell, the family owners of Springbank, after roughly eighty years of dormancy. Made with the same hands-on methods as Springbank, from lightly peated barley malted on Springbank's floor maltings, with everything from malting to bottling done in-house and annual output under 100,000 liters, Kilkerran is one of the most sought-after malts in Scotland.

Matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks and bottled at 92 proof, non-chill-filtered and naturally colored, the 12 Year is classic Campbeltown: green apple, honey, vanilla and light peat smoke on the nose, then a palate of orchard fruit, malt, sea salt and gentle earthy smoke with a waxy texture, finishing long with soot, spice and a mineral, coastal tang.
